The University of Arkansas-Monticello was established in 1909 by act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas and was extended in 2003 to include vocational and technical education. It is a public owned institution and is located in Monticello, Arkansas. It has 12 different schools and divisions and offers graduate and associate degree programs in the areas of General Studies, Agriculture, Business, Computer Information Systems, Arts & Humanities, Music, Forest Resources, Education, Natural Sciences, Nursing, and Social & Behavioural Sciences.
