International students studying in Canberra have the option of attending one of nine Senior Colleges offering a unique Year 11 and 12 education.
With the two senior years separated from the high school, young adults can take part in a serious learning environment that prepares them for tertiary study after graduation or employment after college. The continuous assessment system is particularly beneficial to international students since there is no major external examination at the end of Year 12.Students may complete the Year 12 Certificate, and if they wish, also obtain the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
ACT Year 12 Certificates are recognized around the world for college and university entrance and represent the high quality of education students receive in Canberra.
Canberra international students have a higher average ATAR than students from other states.
