The Bachelor of Science will equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for further research or employment in the field of your chosen major. You will benefit from hands-on, practical learning experiences both on-campus and in the field.

COURSE STRUCTURE

You are required to complete 24 units, comprising of 10 core units and 14 units specified for your chosen major in Applied Biology or Applied Chemistry.

Applied Chemistry Major

This major includes advanced units in forensic science, environmental chemistry, molecular biology, nanotechnology, bio-materials, food chemistry and genetics which enable students to pursue a wide range of career options in the fields of applied chemistry, including analytical science, biotechnology, forensic science, food safety and food technology.

Successful completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 12. An approved university foundation studies or formal Australian Certificate IV can also be taken to meet this entry requirement. Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) or Surat Keterangan Hasil Ujian Nasional (SKHUN or previously STK - Successful completion of SMA or SKHUN with a minimum grade average of 7 out of 10. English requirements: IELTS Academic - 6.0 with no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-based - Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17; Pearson Test of English Academic - Overall score of 54 with no score less than 46; Cambridge English: C1 Advanced , Cambridge English: C2 Proficiency - Overall test score of 169 (with no individual band score of less than 162).

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Requires 550 or better overall and minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 75 or better overall and no score less than 17 (Internet Based Test); or

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or

An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or

Cambridge Certificate in advanced English (CAE) - Score of 180 or above; or

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - Score of 200 or above; or

Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) - 70% with no individual component score of less than 15.
