Specialist: Sociology or Psychology
How the program works
Our diplomas are offered in two parts: part 1 and part 2. In part 1, you’ll study core Arts subjects to prepare you for your chosen stream. In part 2, you’ll choose your specialisation and study the same subjects as first year University students.
Psychology stream – for students who would like to complete a major in psychology or become a psychologist.
Sociology stream – for students considering majoring in communication, international relations or media studies.

Age requirements
Part 1: 16 years
Part 2: 17 years
If you do not meet the age requirements, you may be offered a deferred place.
Academic entry requirements:
Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Australian year 11 or year 12.
English Language requirements:
You will meet the English language requirements if:
You have completed Australian Year 11 and achieve a grade of 60% in your English Language subject/s, or
Your Australian Year 11 equivalent program was taught in English and you achieved satisfactory grades in your English Language subjects.
Alternatively, you will need to meet the minimum score in one of these English tests.
For Part 1
IELTS: 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0); TOEFL Internet based: 52 – Writing 15, Speaking 14, Listening and Reading 5; Pearson Test of English: 42 (no band lower than 36); Monash English Bridging: Successful completion of 20-week program.
For Part 2
IELTS: 6.0 - Writing 6.0; TOEFL Internet based: 69 - Writing 21; Pearson Test of English: 50 - Writing 50; Monash English Bridging: Successful completion of 10, 15 or 20-week program.
