This course was developed by TAFE SA to respond to the workforce development needs of the civil and structural consulting industry in South Australia. Designed in collaboration with industry, the course prepares you to become a site engineer or project manager. In this role, your work may involve project programming, quality control, managing construction teams, liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers and communications with project stakeholders.
Course Notes
International students who do not have the Maths subject requirement at Year 12 level (or the overseas equivalent) will be required to complete the Certificate III in Engineering-Technical to satisfy the maths entry for this Associate Degree. The Certificate III in Engineering - Technical will provide a foundation of Maths to prepare the student for success in the Associate Degree.
Topics include construction practice, mathematics, computing for engineering, basic drawing, construction geotechnics, water infrastructure, structural analysis, site management, environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment and computer science. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 15 core units and 2 elective units.
