This qualification covers workers in a range of work roles who provide assistance to health professional staff with the care of clients. Health Services Assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.
This qualification has been structured with elective groups for specific work functions in assisting in nursing work in acute care. In addition, the qualification supports multiskilling requirements of smaller and rural/remote work settings.
This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeship pathways.

IHNA has in place admission criteria for courses in its scope as required by its ‘Application and Enrolment Procedure for VET Courses’ to ensure that candidates meet industry requirements.
18 years of age and above
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination (Academic) with a minimum total band score of 5.0 and minimum score of 5.0 in each of the four components of listening, reading, writing and speaking or meets equivalent English language proficiency requirements including ELICOS at upper intermediate level
A National Police Clearance or Australian Federal Police (AFP) Clearance certificate
Immunization (this is required for the Professional Experience Placement)
Basic computer skills
Provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
