The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is an internationally recognised graduate research degree that develops your research techniques and critical evaluation skills. You undertake six research training units and conduct independent supervised research within the context of your discipline, developing a sound knowledge of your research subject.

The Master of Philosophy is a research degree which facilitates you in conducting research in your area of expertise and interest. Supported by six research training subjects, you are required to conduct independent research under the supervision of experts in your field. The Master of Philosophy requires the completion of a thesis, or other major project, that demonstrates original thought, and which contributes to existing knowledge. Available in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or online.

Our Higher Degree by Research allows you to develop your research skills through six research training units, so you are work-ready in academic and industry contexts. By conducting original research and practising cognitive flexibility, you will craft your professional identity and be able to communicate the impact of your findings to interested stakeholders in real-world applications.

The Master of Philosophy is comprised of independent research under the guidance of experienced supervisors, culminating in the submission of a thesis. You will be required to provide an Expression of Interest and a Research Proposal as part of your initial application.

Six research training units are to be completed for the Master of Philosophy, four to exit with the Graduate Certificate of Research.
