Swinburne Foundation Year (Business) (8 months) is a pre-university program for international students. It is designed to help students meet the entry requirements for first-year university or progress to a UniLink Diploma.
Students will develop fundamental communication, information technology (IT) and mathematics skills. They will also get an introduction to specialised areas such as accounting, economics, law and marketing.

Depending on the bachelor course students choose and the areas in which they major, students may find employment in accounting, finance, human resources, international business, management, marketing, project management, public relations, software development, systems analysis or tourism. Completion of Australian Year 11 or equivalent.
English language requirements
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 4 Upper Intermediate level) with overall 65%, all skills 60%
minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0
TOEFL iBT (internet-based) score 50 (no less than 5 in reading, 5 in listening, 14 in speaking, 15 in writing)
Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 42 (no communicative skill less than 36)
any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
