The joint major is an interdepartmental program, usually within a BA, to explore the many close relationships between English and French literatures.
To study English is to study language’s fundamental role in making the world and our experience of it. To study with us is to share the classroom with a faculty that has won more teaching awards than any department at SFU, all while authoring and editing a disproportionate number of scholarly books and articles, not to mention award-winning fiction, poetry, and drama.
The English program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers a major, a minor, and certificates in creative writing and in writing and rhetoric. You can start this program at the Surrey campus.
