A Bachelor of Commerce degree takes a minimum of three or four years (90 – 120 credits) of full-time study, depending on your academic background. All JMSB students follow a core business curriculum coupled with a JMSB major, which may be combined with a minor in another discipline or any combination of elective courses that interest them.

  • Core business courses (42 credits)
  • Accountancy major courses (24 credits)
  • Electives (24 credits) which may include a business minor (12 credits)

Co-op program

The Accountancy Co-op program gives you the chance to do paid work terms that last 12 to 16 weeks. Work terms make it possible for you to:

  • Find the right fit in the firm or field you want to practise in
  • Make key connections and network
  • Apply classwork to real-world situations
  • Add career experience to your resume

During a Co-op term, you might:

  • Handle personal and corporate tax files
  • Conduct audits and perform inventory counts
  • Do bank reconciliations
  • Participate in cost-accounting dossiers

Applicants from countries and education systems not specified above are generally admissible if they meet the academic and English-language proficiency requirements for admission to Concordia University, provided they achieve above-average grades overall and in pre-university mathematics courses in their home country. This would translate roughly to a 3.00 CGPA (on a 4.30 scale) or the equivalent of a "B" grade at Concordia University.

In most cases, final grade 11 and mid-term grade 12 results are used to calculate admissions averages. A test of English proficiency may also be required.

English language requirements:

TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language: TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special home edition: Score between 63 and 74, with no more than two parts under 15.

IELTS – International English Language Testing System: IELTS score of 5.5 or 5 and in both cases, only two bands as low as 4.5.

DET – Duolingo English Test: DET score between 90 and 104.

CAEL – Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: CAEL minimum overall score of 40 with no part under 30

PTE Academic – Pearson English Language Test: Overall score of 45 to 49 with only two parts as low as 43.
