Overview

The Foundation in Art & Design is a one-year programme that provides a general art & design education which enables students to gain experience in practical studio work as well as 2D and 3D design and research.

Furthermore, the programme develops a student’s skills in visual analysis, fundamental drawing, color studies, and critical writing skills. These skills will be crucial for their future Bachelor Degree programme.

LEARNING OUTCOME

Students will become artists in the classical sense of the profession, and at the same time experimenters
Students will be knowledgable in the theory and practice of contemporary art & design,
Students will develop their creative potential and critical thinking as young artists.

CAREER OUTCOME

This programme prepares students for undergraduate degree studies in Design & Built Environment.

Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Malaysian SPM - Minimum 5 credits (including English), UEC -Minimum 4Bs (including English), GCE O-Level - Minimum 5 credits (including English). Other equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysian government.
