This programme of study is to promote the study of the production, distribution and reception of texts, of their linguistic, rhetorical and literary structures and functions, and of internal and external forces that create literature in English Language. The program aims to fulfil the needs of graduates who are interested in furthering their studies in Linguistics
The program prepares students for entrance into the profession as both teachers and scholars.
Candidates who join this programme have the option of choosing part-time or full-time status to suit their personal and work schedule.

Applicants should possess the following:
A. Bachelor's degree in related area
1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or
2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74
3. CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours)
A minimum score of 60 in Internet- Based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
A minimum score of Band 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); or
A minimum score of 169 in Cambridge English: Advance (CAE); or
A minimum score of 169 in Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); or
A minimum score of 59 in Pearson Test of English (PTE); or
A minimum score of Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET); or
The applicant’s native language is English or National language; or
Applicant graduated from institutions of higher learning which use English Language as the medium of instruction from United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Canada and New Zealand.
