This is a research masters programme with a 120-point and a 180-point option available. Through coursework and research, you will have the opportunity to contribute valuable knowledge and understanding to your own work, your workplace and the field of education. This qualification can also provide the foundations for doctoral study. Deepen your understanding of education and professional practice, inquire into an education area of interest, and contribute valuable knowledge and understanding to your field.

Research 120 points: You must have completed one year of postgraduate study in education, following an undergraduate degree, from a recognised university (or similar institution) with a GPE of 5.0.

You must also have completed an advanced-level course in approved research methods.

Research 180 points: You must have completed an undergraduate degree in education at a recognised university (or similar institution) with a GPE of 5.0, or an equivalent qualification recognised for teacher registration.

Note: If you already hold a masters degree in the same (or substantially similar field of study), you may not be admitted to this programme.

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
