The BA in Education Studies offers an exciting opportunity to combine academic study with professional practice, developing a balance of intellectual and practical skills. Consequently, students on this course will be required to engage with the thoughtfully designed curriculum which explores various aspects of teaching and learning, whilst also working within the education sector. This facilitates the application of theory into practice. The course enables students to gain insight and understanding of how they can theoretically and practically support the learning and development of children and young people. Modules are reflective of current educational practice whilst allowing for and supporting the ability to deal with future changes within the sector. The course aims to develop highly skilled, reflective educational practitioners, who are well equipped to support the development of children and young people within the education sector. This course supports students’ understanding of a broad range of factors surrounding our education system and facilitates progression towards a range of professions within education – Such as teaching, consultancy, special educational needs coordination and working within the local authority.
