Apa yang akan saya pelajari?
This programme enables you to study two major European languages in the context of the histories, literatures, cultures and societies of the many countries, worldwide, in which they're spoken. Through intense training in both French and Portuguese, you have the opportunity to acquire near-native fluency, while gaining the broad cultural education prized by graduate employers. Both languages are among the 10 most widely spoken in the world, extending beyond Europe to large parts of Africa and the Americas. Alongside intensive study of French and Portuguese, you will explore Francophone and Lusophone culture – literature, cinema, fascinating political history and philosophical ideas. Uniquely in Scotland, studying at Edinburgh enables you to take a full year abroad as part of your four-year undergraduate programme, either studying, teaching or working. You'll therefore spend Year 3 in countries where French and Portuguese are spoken. Another attractive characteristic of this programme is its flexibility. This means that in Years 1 and 2, you’ll choose option courses drawn from a broad list of disciplines in addition to your core subjects.
