Our Creative Media courses offer study in state of the art facilities. Imedia development spans a wide range of sectors including web design, animation, film and immersive technology (virtual reality and augmented reality).

This course will provide learners with core skills in the area of web development, interactive app development and immersive technologies including virtual reality and augmented reality. This full-time course, delivered over two years, has been designed to provide learners with the expertise needed to succeed in these sectors. It will include the following units: Web Development, Emerging Technologies, Virtual & Augmented Reality Development, Principles of User Experience & User Interface Design, Web & App Development Practices, Web & App Development in Context, Individual Project, Creative Media Industry, Professional Practice, Collaborative Project, Personal Professional Development, Advanced Web & App Development Studies, Art Development, Branding & Identity, Narrative (Some units may be subject to change).

Over the two years on the course you will gain access to high end PC workstations, immersive technology hardware and industry standard software packages enabling you to start building the technical skills and knowledge necessary for the web, interactive app and Immersive Technology industries.

How will I be assessed?

The qualification will combine both theory and practical elements. The course includes both internal and external set coursework.

Career Prospects

Successful completion of level 5 will make you industry ready, or if you prefer you can progress onto one of our HNDs in the Belfast TV and Film school or possibly one the following occupations: Web developer, App developer, or Virtual/Augmented Reality content developer.
