International Year Zero (IYZ) is the first stage of a four-year IIB degree. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen Bangor University undergraduate degree course. Studied across three terms, you will continue straight onto Year One of your degree programme once you have successfully completed your IYZ.
This broad-based programme will give you an excellent grounding for undergraduate degrees in a variety of areas, including Media, Law, Sociology and Psychology. After completing the first stage at BUIC, you will continue your chosen degree in the School of Social Sciences, School of Law, School of Psychology or School of Creative Studies & Media.
Bangor Law School offers a diverse range of undergraduate degrees, our LLB degrees are approved by the Law Society and recognised for entry onto professional vocational training. The Law school is ranked top 10 in the UK for ‘Teaching Satisfaction’ (Guardian University League Table, 2018) and offers the student the opportunity to apply for an internship in Barristers Chambers and also get invaluable experience of legal practice in our very own mooting court. Students get the opportunity to gain hands on experience of the latest media equipment while working on their academic projects. Our School pf Psychology is one of the largest in the UK with a strong global reputation for both Teaching and Research.
