As a philosophy major you can expect to develop analytical and critical skills--skills that are highly prized in both academia and the workplace. By studying philosophical texts and problems, you will learn to think, speak, read and write rigorously and deeply. Our philosophy major allows you to:

What is Unique About Our Program?

The Philosophy Department faculty members are dedicated to their teaching and to undergraduate students. They are enthusiastic about advising students and helping them progress through their studies and program. Outside of class, the faculty engage students in lively discussions about philosophical issues, and they involve them in their research projects. Students are encouraged to explore their own interests, and to follow connections to other disciplines such as literature, art, psychology, anthropology, computer science, history, among others.
