In as little as 18 months and with on-campus classes just one day per week, students can earn their undergraduate degree in psychology from JFK University. Our Bachelor of Arts Completion Program in Psychology is designed for working adults looking to finish their degree while taking advantage of the many potential career opportunities available to those holding undergraduate degrees in psychology.

A Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology opens up pathways to a broad range of possible professions. Graduates take their psychology degrees with them into a variety of fields from social work to the social sciences, from human resources to the liberal arts. Those who decide to continue their education beyond their undergraduate degree can pursue graduate studies in a variety of fields, from business to counseling psychology to law. A better understanding of human psychology is beneficial to all walks of life and can lead to greater self-knowledge and life satisfaction.


Students completing the Bachelor’s program in Psychology will be able to do the following:

  • Identify, describe, and communicate the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.
  • Design, implement, and communicate basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretations.
  • Use critical and creative thinking, sceptical inquiry, and a scientific approach to address issues related to behavior and mental processes.
  • Apply psychological principles to individual, interpersonal, group, and societal issues.
  • Value empirical evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, and recognize their role and responsibility as a member of society.


Students must complete 180 quarter units to receive this Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

The 180 units include 45 Lower-Division General Education units required prior to admission. Students lacking these courses may take approved upper-division courses at JFK University, earn credit through CLEP or DANTES tests, or take approved courses from local community colleges.

The study plan below assumes entry to the program with ~98 quarter units with all lower division general education requirements completed.

English proficiency may be met by achieving one of the following: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 550 and above on the paper-based test or 79 - 80 on the Internet-based test; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A score of 6 with no band lower than 5.5; International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) - A score of 3.9 on the iTEP Academic-Plus test.
