All of our Bachelor of Music students take a core curriculum full of theory, history, technology and technique courses. You'll also study your own instrument or specialty in-depth and grow under close faculty mentorship.;

You'll have the opportunity to live in the School of Music Residential College, surrounded by peers who share your interests and goals. Our ensembles, chamber groups, and solo performers participate in festivals, competitions, and conferences at the state, national and international levels. You'll never run out of ways to practice your art here.

Program Highlights

As a bachelor of music student here, you'll:

Live with music students in CMU's unique, music-focused residential hall to form friendships with passionate peers and have convenient access to practice rooms.

Attend master classes presented by guest artists visiting campus or soloists with the Midland Symphony Orchestra.

Gain diverse performance experience in our symphony orchestra, band, choir, marching band, jazz band and opera.

Have access to our 119,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. This includes a 500-seat concert hall with a 61-rank Casavant organ and a 100-seat recital hall.
