Electrical and computer engineering are at the core of just about every technology. Spanning across the fields of electrical engineering and computer science, computer engineering combines the advanced intelligence of computer systems with the fundamental aspects of electrical engineering to deliver intricate and expansive solutions. Technical interest areas include bioengineering, computer systems and software, digital signal processing, electrical energy, electro magnetics, electronic design and applications, micro systems, optics and photonics, systems and controls, telecommunications, and VLSI systems and digital design.
The doctoral degree program is research-oriented and highly individualized. Typically, at least four years of study beyond the bachelor's degree are required to complete the doctoral program.
