Newcastle University is pleased to offer 39 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) for outstanding international applicants who apply to commence full-time Master’s studies.
To be considered for the up to 50% scholarships applicants must:
Central America - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama; South America - Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

The University awards Scholarships on the basis of academic merit and other information provided on the Scholarship application form. To be considered for awards, applicants must have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class Honours degree or above. The applicants chosen to receive the awards will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application and may be contacted for additional information.

There will be two closing dates for applications; India: 30th March 2023 and 25th May 2023 Ghana, Nigeria and Ukraine: 25th May 2023 Late applications will not be considered. Awards will be based on fully completed applications received by the closing date. Unsuccessful applications will not be considered for awards at later allocation points.
The following applicants are not eligible to receive Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship awards: • Current students, registered at the University, who have already commenced their postgraduate degree at the time of the award. Awards cannot be made retrospectively • Applicants initially assessed as international for fee purposes but whose fees change to “home” • Students repeating courses • Study abroad and exchange students.
