Writtle University College (WUC) is a public university, established in 1893. The University College is located near Chelmsford, Essex, and is one of the oldest specialist institutions in the UK, offering a range of land-based, animal and sport courses at various levels of academic study and also in the form of further education, short courses and apprenticeships. Postgraduate programmes are offered in horticulture, equine, and business management; and undergraduate programmes are offered in the disciplines of agriculture, animal science and animal management, design, equine, floristry, food, horticulture, sport and wildlife, conservation and rural environment. The University College also offers over 100 short courses. Writtle College’s facilities and resources, situated in its picturesque campus of approximately 150 hectares, enable students to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
