Yukon University

Founded in 1963 as the Whitehorse Vocational and Technical Training Centre, Yukon University is located on the banks of the Yukon River near downtown Whitehorse. The university offers a broad range of programs, which includes one-year certificate programs, two-year diplomas and four-year degrees, in addition to academic upgrading. Yukon University provides specialization options in the following programs: Business, Culinary Arts (cooking), Early Learning and Child Care and Northern Science. The university has credit transfer agreements with universities and colleges in Canada and Alaska. More than 85 per cent of the graduates who used the transfer system reported being satisfied with the credit they received for Yukon University’s courses. The Yukon Territory, including the friendly, small city of Whitehorse are famous for their stunning natural beauty, First Nations arts and culture, Canadian gold-rush history as well as the breath-taking natural phenomena, the northern lights (Aurora Borealis).
