This course is delivered under Aviation Australia’s EASA part 147.0012 approval, allowing students to receive a Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering as well as an EASA Certificate of Recognition for the B1.1 (Turbine aeroplanes), upon meeting the requirement for a 90% attendance rate while completing all theory examinations at a minimum of 75% pass mark rate and being marked competent in all practical assessments. This is also the first step towards obtaining an EASA Part-66 Licence.
The 95 weeks program includes 1351 hours of theory training combined with 1190 hours of practical training delivered at Aviation Australia’s Headquarter based at the Brisbane Airport precinct. The CASA CAR 30 approval allows students to be trained in a live maintenance environment providing them exposure to mechanical practical tasks (such as inspect, repair and maintain aircraft structures, maintain mechanical components, test and troubleshoot gas turbine engine systems).
Students will also receive their unique Journal of Experience where they will be able to record all practical maintenance tasks performed during their training at Aviation Australia which will be signed off by qualified EASA instructors with practical assessments being signed off by EASA qualified assessors.

Academic Suitability: Evidence of completion of Year 12 or equivalent, with a pass in Mathematics (at minimum Year 10 or equivalent). Where an applicant does not meet these requirements, Aviation Australia may consider sufficient relevant work experience (documented via a resume and referees) and/or a successfully completed higher level qualification that demonstrates academic suitability. Minimum of 17 years of age: Applicants under the age of 18 may be accepted where it is demonstrated they will be under approved guardianship arrangements. This arrangement requires the approval of the Department of Home Affairs.
