The Diploma of Science provides a pathway into the second year of a Monash University Science degree. Core subjects introduce students to the fundamentals of the scientific method in both theory and practice, and units are available across a range of science and related disciplines including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Psychology, Computing and Engineering. Our diplomas are in two parts: part 1 and part 2. In part 1, you’ll study core science subjects. In part 2, you’ll study the same subjects as first-year University students and develop your specialist knowledge of science. Part 1 is completed over two trimesters across nine months. You will complete eight core science units that introduce key concepts and practices across various disciplines. You will have the flexibility to explore your interests and begin to define your academic focus as you prepare to progress into Part 2.
