Geography is the interdisciplinary study of our world, its physical characteristics like water, landforms, vegetation and climate as well as the relationships between people and the environment. The Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Geography concentrates on the causes and effects of various environmental issues. The importance of geography is more widely recognized as we attempt to understand a world with instant global communications, changing social and cultural norms, and growing evidence of environmental change. Geographers examine these and other complex issues by considering three themes – the interconnectedness of people, places and environment. The BA Environmental Geography focuses on examining the interconnectedness of human-environmental issues including climate change, pollution, ecological degradation and the utilization of our resources.Students who are admitted to a degree program with Concurrent Education, and who complete their Nipissing Honours degree, including the Concurrent Education specific courses, by the end of April, will transition into Years 5 and 6 of the Bachelor of Education professional years. All courses required for the Honours undergraduate degree and/or teachable subject requirements must be completed by May 1 of the year for which the BEd Year 5 transition is being made.
