MA in Religion

The joint Master of Arts (MA) in Religion is offered by the Department of Religion at the University of Manitoba and the Department of Religion & Culture (formerly Religious Studies) at The University of Winnipeg. The program provides advanced study in the interdisciplinary field of religious studies. Course offerings and thesis direction are available at both universities. Students in the program can choose between two streams: Thesis Option (coursework plus thesis) or Course Option (all coursework). In both streams the student is required to demonstrate reading knowledge of a second language. In the Thesis Option, this reading knowledge normally must be demonstrated before the thesis proposal is reviewed. As well, students must have completed courses in Methodology from a recognized university/college, or take this type of training in addition to their regular coursework in the MA program.
