Prepare yourself for a career in early childhood or primary/intermediate education, and learn from staff who are passionate about teaching. Teachers play an essential role in motivating, inspiring and educating the people who will go on to shape the future of our society. AUT's education programmes include 22 weeks of teaching placements, so you can get first-hand experience in the workplace and graduate with confidence in your skills. You can apply for TeachNZ scholarships to support your studies. Specialties in the Bachelor of Education are Early Childhood Teaching and Primary Teaching

Higher School Certificate

Apply if you have:

A grade of C or higher in each of three subjects of the New Zealand University Entrance, Bursaries and Scholarships (NZUEBS) examinations; or

A combination of NZUEBS A, B or C grades and have completed equivalent subjects registered on the National Qualifications Framework; or

At least 13 credits at Level 3 from the National Qualifications Framework in each of 3 approved subjects from the approved list

You must have achieved the IB Diploma (24 points)
