This NZQA approved qualification builds on the New Zealand Diploma in Aviation (General Aviation) with a strand in Flight Instruction.
Holders of this qualification are able to engage in flight instruction under the relevant CAA Rules, or in associated support industries such as flight planning and aircraft operations.
Graduates of the Aeroplane Flight Instruction strand will also be able to:
Instruct a diverse population of students in ground subjects and the art of flying, from private through to commercial pilot and instrument ratings on single or multi-engine aircraft to meet the requirements of a CAANZ Category C Flight Instructor Aeroplane, as defined and specified in CAA Rule Part 61 and applicable Advisory Circulars.
Includes the theory subjects offered in NZ Diploma in General Aviation plus the addition of the following:
ATPL Navigation
ATPL Air Law
ATPL Systems and Aerodynamics
Instructional Techniques Course
Pilot-in-Command Consolidations
C-Category Flight Training and Practical Ground Course
Establish Culturally Safe Learning Environment Course

Entry Criteria
To be eligible for any of our programmes you must be able to show you have the ability to complete the programme, have a clear criminal and driving offence record and be able to hold the appropriate class of medical. If you meet the above entry requirements, fill out an application form. Successful candidates will be invited for an interview and aptitude testing. If accepted into a programme with IAANZ, you will be sent an Offer of Enrolment.
