A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree involves original and sustained research, mentored by an academic supervisor. It’s an opportunity to make new discoveries, address some of the big issues of our time, challenge yourself, and develop a mix of transferable and specialised skills. Study human health and disease at an advanced level. Focus in detail on your specialist areas of cell and molecular biology, genetics, immunology, biological and medicinal chemistry, physiology or environmental health. You'll carry out research in an area related to cell and molecular bioscience or biomedical science, learning to design, perform and assess your own experiments. Gain advanced technical and laboratory skills and learn to effectively communicate your findings.
