The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is an interdisciplinary degree that allows you to enhance your personal goals by connecting three Texas State minors, two General Studies courses, and appropriate supporting courses. The Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education and School Psychology provides high quality graduate education to promote personal, cultural, social, emotional, educational and economic growth and development. Our faculty and students engage in meaningful teaching, learning, research and service that lead directly to significant transformational changes in schools, organizations, communities, and institutions locally and globally. The department’s scholars and students actively generate relevant and dynamic research that advances the fields of education, mental health, and higher education. The multidisciplinary and multicultural nature of our department provides opportunities to model collaboration across disciplines, and to learn from one another as we are respectful of and responsive to individuals and groups from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
