Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications Management

The School of Art offers a four-year, liberal arts degree program leading to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Graphic Communications Management. Students must select one of two minors: Studio Art or Business Administration. Graphic Communications Management emphasizes the technical, operational, and business side of the graphic communications industry. Students learn about production processes, machine operations, packaging production, cost estimating, job planning, analog and digital workflows, color management, and quality control. Introductory courses cover printing processes, screen and specialty graphics, and the basics of graphic design. Intermediate and advanced classes focus on ink and substrate packaging technology, construction and design color management cross-media communications and quality control and automation. Seniors complete a capstone project that enables them to develop a specialization in a specific area of graphic communications.
