Certificate in Arabic

California State University - San Bernardino

CSUSB’s Arabic Certificate is designed for students who want to develop strong proficiency in the Arabic language while gaining a deeper understanding of the cultures, histories, and contemporary societies of the Arab world. Offered through the Department of World Languages and Literatures, the program blends intensive language study with coursework in media, literature, linguistics, and cultural analysis. Students progress through intermediate and advanced Arabic courses while engaging with authentic texts, films, news, and professional communication. The certificate helps students build practical communication skills-reading, writing, listening, and speaking-as well as cultural competence that supports meaningful engagement in academic, professional, and global settings.
