Advancing the field of electronics and photonics through transformative materials science research, College faculty discover new materials, seek to understand material properties, and integrate their knowledge into technological innovations in computing, communication, sensing , advanced electronics, optoelectronics, photonics and plasmonics. The faculty study photovoltaics, experimental methods and approaches, thin films and nanostructures, nanopatterning interface-related phenomena, and defect control, among others.
