In this Bachelor of Science program, students majoring in business-related law learn about the legal framework for the successful operation of organizations in our economy and the social, ethical, and economic forces that shape those laws. Through the study of the laws supporting governmental, commercial, and nonprofit enterprises, students gain insight into decision-making in various sectors of the economy. The major courses include ethics, general business law, and sector-specific law courses, such as Legal Aspects of Health Organizations. The program prepares students to analyze complex problems, think critically, work collaboratively and communicate effectively through course work and related activities like internships. Students develop the skills needed in today’s workplaces, including synthesizing information, identifying factual and legal issues and policy considerations, and analogizing and developing persuasive arguments based on ethics, public policy, and law.
