Our graduates are successful as our program is an effective springboard into both academic and non academic careers. Our assistantships cover all fees and tuition and stipends are quite competitive with other graduate programs. Our students develop a critical and versatile skill set. We have an excellent student to faculty ratio in our graduate program. We offer a well rounded curriculum. Our program has national visibility. Students who write a thesis must complete 33 hours of graduate courses including 3 6 hours of credit for POLS 7996 Thesis. Students electing to write a thesis should familiarize themselves with the Thesis Dissertation Preparation Guide before beginning to write. Students who do not write a thesis must complete 36 hours of graduate courses.

Baccalaureate Degree The applicant must provide an unofficial transcript showing that a U.S. bachelors degree or its equivalent was awarded by an accredited college or university or is expected to be awarded within one term. If accepted to the University of Memphis the student must provide an official transcript by the end of their first semester. In addition transcripts from any other college or university attended may be requested. Only transcripts received directly from an issuing institution are considered official. Personal copies are not acceptable as official documents. If you are a UofM undergraduate student applying to Graduate School at UofM you do not need to request that an official transcript be sent to Graduate Admissions. 2.75 4.0 cumulative GPA. Departments may set higher standards.
