In the Materials Science & Engineering doctoral program, you will study with a world-class faculty who are pioneering innovations in the field, both on campus and at the department's off-campus research facility, the Arizona Materials Laboratory. You will be encouraged to lead collaborative research projects in areas as diverse as high-tech ceramics nonlinear optical materials sol-gel and biomimetic processing extractive and physical metallurgy and polymers in electronic packaging. Courses of study focus on a research concentration: additive manufacturing heritage conservation integrated computational science and engineering materials for energy conversion and heat control materials, synthesis, processing and fabrication and optical materials.
