To be considered for this award, the candidate must:

  • Be listed on the official roster of a Griffin Athletic Team for the given academic year;
  • Meet the requirements outlined by the Canada West Universities Athletic Association and Canadian Interuniversity Sports (CIS) within the policies and procedure section of the by-laws (Policy 50 Financial Awards); OR
  • Meet the requirements outlined by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Operating Code as it pertains to financial assistance to athletes (Operating Code page 31); and
  • Be nominated by his/her coach of the respective sport (Women's Hockey).
  • Demonstrate evidence of outstanding community leadership and engagement to the Edmonton community and/or the capital region.

Disbursement Criteria

  • Must be enrolled full-time.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be listed on the official roster of a Griffin Athletic Team for the given academic year.

Kriteria seleksi

Eligible students are nominated by their coach of the respective sport. Nominations must be approved by MacEwan University's Director of Athletics. Nominations are validated through the office responsible for student awards to ensure eligibility prior to awarding.

Recipients will be notified via e-mail. Committee selections are final, appeals will not be considered.
