The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Electrical) will develop your ability to design and build the systems and machines that generate, transmit, measure, control and use electrical energy. During this four-year degree you will gain core skills in physics, mathematics, computer science and basic electrical engineering principles, before specialising in a variety of fields within the discipline, such as biomedical engineering, energy engineering and automatic control. In your third and fourth years, you can take electives to add breadth and depth to your studies. As part of your degree you will undertake the award-winning Professional Engagement Program enabling you to change your approach to learning through self-reflection and extra-curricular activities throughout your degree.Our Internet of Things (IoT) specialisation explores the components that make up IoT: the sensors that collect data, the communication networks for data transmission and the data analytics applications for evaluating data and making decision. In this specialisation, you will gain the knowledge of these three key aspects of IoT by combining the study of telecommunications, electrical and computer engineering, with an emphasis on wireless communications, networks, sensor devices, data technologies and its applications in smart grids and critical infrastructure. The specialisation aims to offer a comprehensive program with state of the art IoT technologies so you can engage in the creative development of the innovative Internet of Things.As a graduate of our Internet of Things (IoT) specialisation, you will be prepared to work in an evolving world connected by smart objects, platforms and environments via the internet. IoT has been identified as the next big technology development enabling significant society changes and economic growth, at a predicted annual rate of 20%.
