At The University of Notre Dame Australia, our Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Communications & Media is an immensely practical degree that delivers job-ready graduates who are fully trained to excel in the workplace.

As a student in the School of Law, we encourage you to take advantage of our intimate seminar settings. With small class sizes, this is the perfect environment for you to explore and develop your skills in public speaking, advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution. Students are also encouraged to learn outside of the classroom, particularly by attending our Eminent Speakers Series. Why study this degree?

Our double degree in Law and Communications & Media is your gateway to a range of rewarding
careers in a diverse range of fields and contexts. Graduates may wish to work as a legal practitioner or pursue a career in communications and the media. These days, communications and media are heavily regulated industries. Understanding the law will help those who work in these areas to operate in compliance with the law and enables lawyers to provide those working in communications and media with sound legal advice. Learning different ways of communication in this degree will help you in whichever career you choose to pursue in the future.

The Bachelor of Laws degree is an accredited degree for admission to legal practice. It combines
excellent coverage of underlying legal and ethical principles with an explanation of how those
principles are applied in legal practice. Unlike many other programs in New South Wales, Notre
Dame’s School of Law requires that all our academics have a substantial amount of practical
experience. Allowing students to learn both the principles of the legal profession and how they apply in practice, your lecturers will include solicitors, barristers and judges. Furthermore, smaller class sizes with an average of less than 30 students, ensures you have the means by which to explore and develop your skill set.

To complete a Bachelor of Communications & Media you will need to have finished at least eight
Communications & Media courses in your chosen Major field of study. Possible Majors include
Advertising, Film and Screen Production and Journalism.
