Marine scientists investigate the physical and biological nature of oceans, their conservation and environmental management and impact on human society. Throughout this degree, you will learn how to understand, observe and define oceanographic and coastal processes, ocean biodiversity, governance, and management. You will use emerging technologies in marine science and be trained in skills necessary for the workplace. Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
The University assumes students will have studied Mathematics and any 2 units of science. The university recommends that students study four units of science.
Students who have not completed Chemistry and/or Biology in the HSC are strongly recommended to enrol in bridging courses offered in February each year.
