The course is designed as a fourth-year add-on to the Bachelor of Medical Science (Pathology). It is only available through a competitive application process to students who complete the pathology program.Emerge as an expert in diagnostic methods for different diseases, as well as in the flow, regulations and health and safety requirements of professional pathology environments.In this course, you'll acquire specialist medical laboratory skills, knowledge and . Study subjects in human pathophysiology, applied pathology technology, molecular pathology and laboratory management. You will also complete a professional placement in a hospital laboratory or related medical environment.

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Frame Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.

This course is available to students who complete the course requirements of the Bachelor of Medical Science Pathology, and demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Admission is via internal course transfer. Prospective students also submit a statement describing their interest in Laboratory Medicine and their aspirations to develop a career in this field.
