Learn how to apply various mathematical concepts to model and improve the behaviour of complex systems and their operations. In this course, you will explore the realm of mathematics and become prepared for an engaging career in optimisation, financial mathematics or industrial mathematics.You'll learn how to apply mathematical and statistical principles across operations research, statistics, numerical analysis and applied mathematical modelling. These skills will empower you to apply mathematics to address real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. You'll also learn how to locate and evaluate evidence and scientific literature, leveraging modern technologies to gather data and communicate insights relating to mathematical science. After completing this course, you’ll graduate ready to contribute to real-world endeavours in science, engineering, industry and commerce.

To apply for entry into this course, you must have met:

  • the course ATAR (Australian Tertiary Academic Rank) or equivalent recognised overseas qualification
  • ATAR - 70
  • Completion of Australian Year 12 (VCE, HSC, QCE, WACE, SACE, TCE, NTCE, ACT) with a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 70; and a scaled mark of at least 50 in English, Literature, or English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - 24
