Chemical engineering involves the design and development of large-scale processes which enhance the manufacture of products formed from chemicals, microorganisms and other raw materials. It is used in industrial, biological and environmental fields for the production of materials such as fuels, fertilisers, foods, alcohol, polymers and pharmaceuticals.
