The ICMS Graduate Certificate of Information Technology is a postgraduate qualification designed to equip you with the skills to enter an IT career, or can be a pathway to a Master of Information Technology (MIT) at ICMS. The Graduate Certificate of Information Technology will provide you with foundational ICT knowledge, focusing on core competencies. After completing the Graduate Certificate of Information Technology, graduates will have knowledge of ICT fundamentals and will gain practical ICT skills, enabling them to make an immediate contribution within the industry. Students will have an opportunity to study one subject from the ICMS MIT specialisation streams as a specified elective subject and explore the specialisation they may want to pursue in the future. Upon successful completion of the ICMS Graduate Certificate of Information Technology you will able to: Apply the core body of knowledge of the IT discipline, employing relevant industry standards and best practices. Design and construct IT solutions to real-world problems, exercising critical thinking and enacting skills that underpin the dynamics of the information technology field. Effectively collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of IT proficiency, using fit-for-purpose communication methods. Work autonomously and responsibly in the dynamic IT environment by implementing self-management strategies, enacting intellectual independence, and evaluating own performance for continuing professional development.

Successful completion of a bachelor degree (AQF7) from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. Successful completion of an overseas higher education course of at least three years duration (minimum AQF level 6 or equivalent), with a minimum credit grade average (GPA 3.0 on a 5-point scale) Successful completion of a recognised Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Government's qualifications recognition tool) with at least four (4) years relevant full-time work experience. Successful completion of an approved Postgraduate Qualifying Program from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. At least five years appropriate full-time managerial or professional IT experience. Applicants must demonstrate a recognisable level of responsibility as part of their work experience. Position accountability in a range of areas as applicable or other relevant supervisory experience should be evident in the applicant's work history. While senior levels of volunteer experience may be considered, normally the majority of the work should be in a paid, full-time capacity. Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience MUST support their application with evidence. Successful completion of at least two award or at least two non-award subjects (at AQF Level 8 or above) from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent
