Building on foundational human services concepts, the program explores contemporary issues affecting individuals and communities, with a focus on ethical practice, social justice, advocacy, policy, leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration. Students gain the skills to critically evaluate complex social challenges and develop effective, evidence-informed responses in professional practice settings.

Designed for graduates and professionals seeking career advancement or transition into the human services sector, the program prepares students for roles across community services, government, health and wellbeing, family and youth support, social policy, case management and community development.

With a strong emphasis on real-world application and community impact, the Graduate Diploma supports students to develop leadership capabilities and professional expertise that can contribute to more inclusive, resilient and equitable communities. The program may also provide a pathway to further postgraduate study.

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree or higher in any discipline containing at least four subjects in one of the following areas: social and behavioural sciences, health and human services, humanities and cultural studies, policy and applied social sciences, or related professional fields. Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 80 credit points (8 subjects), typically completed across two semesters.
