Apa yang akan saya pelajari?

La Trobe’s Master of Speech Pathology gives you the knowledge and skills to help people realise their communication and swallowing potential. Learn how to observe communication and mealtimes in everyday settings, conduct assessments, interpret clinical data and develop interventions. You’ll also gain hands-on experience working with a range of individual clients.As you learn, you’ll take part in clinical workshops, guided demonstration sessions and simulation activities. You’ll also work with service providers to help people with communication and swallowing needs participate and feel included in their community.After graduating, you’ll be well placed to pursue speech pathology roles in hospitals, community health centres, private practice, schools, rehabilitation centres and aged-care centres. You could also work in areas such as health promotion, teaching, consulting and communication.

PrerequisitesSuccessful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).Selection criteriaAll students are expected to undertake a four-week bridging course at the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus, which is designed to enable students to develop foundation knowledge in Speech Pathology (including human bioscience (anatomy and physiology), linguistics (phonetics and grammar) and problem-based learning) which will serve as a basis for their future studies in Speech Pathology.Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 (calculated across entire completed degree) in any of the following:Australian bachelor level degree (or equivalent)Australian masters by coursework degree (or equivalent)Australian graduate diploma (or equivalent)Alternatively, applicants who have completed an Honours year (subsequent to a bachelor level degree) are eligible to apply with a minimum H2A grade
