Improve your reading, writing and critical thinking skills with the Associate of Arts Degree in English. You’ll get to explore and practice a variety of literary styles including fiction, plays, poetry, academic writing and more. You’ll be able to tailor your English education to your interests, as each semester instructors choose different texts and themes to teach. Douglas College English courses provide the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in English while obtaining the credits you’ll need to continue your education into further university studies. British Columbia secondary school graduation or equivalent; One course short of British Columbia secondary school graduation, or equivalent; Nineteen (19) years of age or older on the first day of the first semester of attendance; Seventeen (17) years of age on the first day of the first semester of attendance, and has not been enrolled at a school for a minimum of one year; Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years, or has received an Evergreen or Leaving School Certificate
