Bachelor of Arts in History and Global Humanities Joint Major

This joint major explores relationships between the two disciplines. Students must plan their program in consultation with advisors in each department. The majors are available in both the campuses(Surrey and Burnaby), so both have been marked. Students complete 120 units, as specified below.The History component of these programs has the same requirements as the History major with the exception that students complete only 24 instead of 32 upper division units.Global Humanities courses appeal to students who are curious about many diverse areas such as classical and medieval studies, modern thought and culture, Renaissance humanism, and eastern and western religions. Crossing disciplinary boundaries, students will learn to pose questions and address concerns central to understanding the human condition.
